Elles de Boorder

My journey with this wonderful breed started back in 1983. Looking back, I realize I’ve now shared four decades of my life with Old English Sheepdogs. Back then, I was just a kid whose parents wanted to give me a furry friend. She was a typical Bobtail: funny, luyal, and full of character. She reached the lovely age of almost 14, and in 1997 we welcomed our second dog. At that ime I wasn’t deeply involved with the breed. That changed in 2008 when my girl passed away from cancer. We wanted to trace her relatives, and since I was already active on the internet, I began my search. Back then, tehre was no Facebook, only a few OES forums. It was difficult to find information online. In the end, we got a Duch girl, tough we had to wait a very long time for her pedigree. That delay pushed me to start digging into pedigrees myself. I felt a responsilibity to help others who were also searching for relatives. As I was already working online, the idea of creating a platfomr soon took shape. That was more than 15 years ago, and since then, my database has grown into a worldwide reference point. I am grateful that I was able to give something back to this beloved breed that has given me so much.

Since 2010, I have been working with Conny as her webmaster, and through that I was also invited to join the EURO-OES team in Belgium. As I work full time and my database already takes much of my spare time, I try to contribute wherever I can. I look forward to meeting many friends from all over the world.
